STEERING WHEEL MODIFICATION

I have a 66 eldorado convert. I put 2002 cadillac interior in it & would like to put the matching steering wheel to match with the interior. But on the new steering wheel the hole for the mounting of the steering wheel is larger than my factory steering column. The spline on my factory steering column is too skinny for the new steering wheel!! Can anyony point me in the right direction?? Flaming river & Ididit does not offer a column to fit the conversion its a totally custom job if someone could help thanks!!
