I need to find a conversion kit for my 63 falcon. It has been conveted to a 289, but we can't get the front end to stay alligned. We bought the car after it had been converted and it chews the heck out of the tires. I love the car and would like to be able to drive it. Any suggestions? I've heard that a mustange 2 front end will work. Thanks SC

The main thing to do is to look at the ball joints, if you don't rebuild the front end you will always be all over the road. The problem with this style of suspension it produced too much bum steer. If you also had sagged rear springs you would excelerate the problems in the front end. Also were the springs changed to allow for the V8. When I did the early mustangs I lowered the upper A- arm by 1 inch like Carrol Shelby did. I also tightned up the front suspension and added heavier stablizers. Yes you can run rack'n pinion in the front which will help in a more direct steering. but if your not willing to redo the front your banging your head against the wall. If you let the front suspension bounce to its extremeties you will get extreme bum steer.Early Ford suspension was very poor when it came to steering geometry.
