I have about 4 black and white photos from the first year of the Santa Ana drags in 1950. They show me and my dragster at the drags making some passes. There is a good shot of the strip with the telephone poles keeping the spectators back. I would like to submit my photos.There is also an interesting story that is unpublished of the events leading up to the race, how a bunch of kids cobbled the dragster together.
We were street racers up to that point, and eventually I ended up at Indy as a motorman at Cosworth and with Parnelli Jones.
I would appreciate any contact I can make with Leslie Long to add to his collection.
