My name is Don Ross, I restore and re create old dragsters in Dallas TX. We take our cars to drag race reunions and just fire them up most never turn a tire in anger ever again.
I am looking for an old article from around the 70s. It was about car shows where everybody just towed there cars to a show and listened to them run while still on the trailer. One guy actually defied the cops and drove his to the show, and I think he was chased down and eliminated by the police on his way home.
I need a copy of this story and want to post it on some racing sites.
 Thanks Don Ross
