I aquirred a beautiful 47 ford 2dr business coupe frame, complete rolling chassis. It has a merc flathead that still turns, 3 speed tranny, working steering box, and torsion shocks. The only thing that doesn't work is the master cyl. The body was raped for a pro street project (which was a shame to say the least). I always wanted to build a 29 ford roadster old school hot rod with the flathead, orig. drive train and buggy suspension, a rat rod so to speak. Will this frame work for that, or what will I have to cut, chop, or fab to do it? Any help would be appreciated.
Chris
ps I'm more of a muscle car guy, but I have experience with restoration/fab. projects

I'd suspect you will be doing some fab work, the 29 had a basic chassie, very simple and easy to build. But with lter chassie designs they started to change the shape which made it a whole lot harder to meet the shape of the body features. It maybe better to fab the chassie or get a cheapy from the swapmeet and transfer the running gear.

The '47 has curved frame rails and a '29 has straight frame rails, even the crossmembers are too wide, so keep the flathead and running gear, sell the rest to get the money to buy a '29 body and frame and you'll be a lot farther ahead.
