Hello everyone hope all is good. A little about me if that's OK. I'm 51 retired due to a disability and have been a single dad since 1988. I never had the chance to do a custom car until now and I'm looking forward to the chance to learn all I can about all aspects of customizing cars.

I joined Rod and Custom with the hope of getting some help with my car projects. First off the car's I will be working on are 1:18 scale die cast that I will modify and customize. I know there are sites dedicated to die cast but no one seems to know how to do the things I want to. If the community is willing to give me the benefit of their experience with my questions it will be appreciated. But, if the community doesn't want me here I will gladly cancel my account.

As I said I am disabled and cannot work on or afford to do a real car and that is why I chose die cast. I have seen some extremely detailed (and expensive) die cast cars that are realistic down to wired and plumbed engines to the rivets in some aluminum skinned cars I've seen. It may sound like a lame hobby but I'm limited to what I can do. Well, here's hoping I can stick around.
Thanks

Actually if you look in the back of a lot of the magazines there is a section that is dedicated to just that thing. Anyway most of us who have custom vehicles or even those that don't, have a room full of toys and models which we relate to as a cheap fix for our addition. And I got to tell you I have modified many a model to give myself an idea on what the final project would look like.
Now if you have ever got a chance to go to the Pomona swapmeet in California you will see a few guys there that build just modified models and mind you they do a fine job of it and get big bucks for it to boot. I don't have any business cards from them but the show is on about every 1 to 1/2 months.I 'm sure you would find someone that goes since it is one of the biggest swapmeets on the west coast. Not sure when I am there next because I've got to go back to tha land downunder for a stint and a chance to unload a container.  All the best Matie and welcome, don't be concerned we are all on theropy.

Appreciate it thanks. I exchange ideas with a person from Australia and they have a Holden Monaro they drive and they also customize die cast. Good people from there for sure, for my birthday last year they sent me a die cast car from the "Mad Max" movie's.

I have a lot of MAD MAX models and a lot of Australian cars. I built a real Intercepter with a real supercharger. Plus I have a lot of Ford XYGTHO phase 3 models and have sent a few XYGT's to America. My Mustang is Right hand drive and is in California. Plus my many variable models.
