i shaved the door handles on my 49 merc and cant figure out how to make a bracket or linkage to hook up the cable for the solenoid to pull the latch.im using the original latch as it works perfectly.the window track is blocking everything i try.since most mercs ive seen have shaved handles i know it can be done but cant figure out how,im using a kit from SPAL and i called them but they dont know how either.any one have any pics or articles i can see to help finish my 6 year restoration would be a great help.

Too hard I went and installed bear claw latch just below original latch . I hooked up to it with a 40 ld solenoid electric remote works great. If you don't want electric you can use a 1/8 rod thru orig door lock to pop latch open, conect to bear latch. looks custom and orig. Ihave seen Lincoln buttons used with original latches.
