I've been reading Rod & Custom for decades.  This magazine is top notch!!! What's up with the male enhancement ad on page 75 of the April 2009 issue.  C'mon!!!  Who's dumb "axx" idea was that?

Signed,

Very Disappointed

I belive magazines make there money by selling ads. Don't read it if it offends you. I personally thank them for keeping my copy of R&C in my mail box, I know my $15 a year won't do it.

TELL IT LIKE IT IS, COUPSTER!  IN THESE MOST UNCERTAIN ECONOMIC TIMES YOU'VE GOT TO DIG IT OUT WHERE YOU CAN.  I AM OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE SEEN R&C GO AWAY A COUPLE OF TIMES AND COME BACK, SO I DON'T CARE WHAT KINDA SNAKE OIL THEY ADVERTISE AS LONG AS IT KEEPS THE MAG COMING.  HEY, HOW ABOUT SOME FREDRICKS OF HOLLYWOOD OR VICTORIA'S SECRET ADS...JUST TO KEEP IT INTERESTING? LOL

I agree and the humor was there, I just figure with all  content in the magazine and with  one page that offends someone, why spend all your time on that page? , turn it and look at the cars and read the articles.  I don't like billet parts but I still read magazines that advertise them.

I agree with you! The kind of rods I want to read about have four wheels! I too have been reading Rod & Custom for over twenty years, and I consider this to be a low point in an otherwise noteworthy publication.

You've brought up a valid point. However, up until now, Rod & Custom has been about cars . . . even the ads. Turning it into trash by advertising anything and everything is a drag! You said "Don't read it if it offends you". Maybe you're right . . . Instead of renewing my subscription, I can just peruse the next issue at the supermarket. I'm sure that they made enough off of that ad that they won't miss my $15 a year!

So lets see if I got this right. Its OK to look at a magazine with objectionable advertiseing in the supermarket as long as you don't pay for it? Man I don't get all the whiney crap that goes on today.

No coupster, you don't have it. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. My subscription renewal form arrived just a few days before I received the April issue. I was waiting until payday so I could send a check for more than just one years worth. I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every copy of Rod & Custom for the past 24 years, and I have kept them all. However, the April issue has a little clink in it . . . a rod knock if you will. I wrote to the editor of my concern . . . I would not like to have it go unchecked and get out of control. I don't know if I will get a reply, but until I do, I will not send my money to renew my subscription. Instead, I will check the advertiser index in the next issue before I buy it. If Rod & Custom can keep it related to hot rods, great. On the other hand, I will be dismayed if Rod & Custom turns into junk mail by running a bunch of ads that have nothing to do with cars. I've seen it happen in other areas and I do not want to see it happen to my favorite magazine. You might, but I'm not going to spend my hard-earned cash on a phone book just because there's a photo of a primered Model A on the cover. By the way, if you don't like "all the whiney crap that goes on today", don't read this form! I'm hoping that someone at the magazine who cares will read it.

Well as my old man always said,ya gotta do what ya gotta do. The way I see it is the only one your going to hurt is yourself. I for one will continue to enjoy reading R&C. By the way do you turn your TV off when those kinda comercials air? I also have to wonder if Intagas and 5wCoupe arn't one in the same seeing as how the only posts they have made to this forum are in this thread.
