I can pick up a 2-wheel drive S-10 frame and suspension for a $100. Does anyone know if this would make a good swap and would it be strong enough for a 53 Pontiac with a Chevy 6.0? I’m thinking of sticking with the original frame and fabbing in the suspension or maybe the whole front frame section, not sure yet.

THE S-10 FRAME SWAP SOUNDS LIKE A REAL BAG OF SNAKES TO ME.  ALL THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REBUILD WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE AND MANY PIECES, LIKE BUSHINGS, HAVE REALLY BEEN IMPROVED OVER THE YEARS.  THE STOCK SUSPENSION WILL WORK WELL IF REBUILT, AND THE CAR WILL DRIVE RIGHT. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MORE MODERN FRONT END WITH POWER STEERING AND DISC BRAKES, THE SUB FRAME SWAP IS THE WAY TO GO. IF YOU GO THIS ROUTE, MEASURE, MEASURE, AND MEASURE AGAIN!  ALSO, MAKE SURE YOUR WELDING SKILLS ARE UP TO THE TASK...ALWAYS MAKE IT SAFE.  GOOD LUCK...AND ENJOY!
