Need some sage advice. Building a 1940 Ford Coupe, vintage body and frame. Using a French block with new blower, T-5, banjo rear end. Ready to start on the frame and suspension choices/mods. Want to use a 4 inch dropped, i-beam with 4-bar and reverse the eyes on the spring, disc brake conversion, and some sort of spindle/hub config that will give me some reasonable choices for wheels (remember, using banjo on the rear). Need some ideas as concerns are for tire/wheel clearance for both front and rear. What kind of steering set up do I need to consider? Also need to choose the right shocks and mounts for rear that will not interfere with wide (as practical) tires on the rear. Am open on the wheel style, so appreciate recommendations on size, offset, brand, etc.

Why don't you have the rear converted to late model axle ends and then you can use late model shafts and pick any wheel pattern you want. later axles and brakes are a lot better

great idea, i assume this is something that most machine shops can do. have you done this in the past? What concerns should I be looking out for? Thanks for the reply.
