Since the pages were small (50's) and Spence Murray was building the R&C Dream truck. and weathered the dry spells when publication ceased a few times.

the RC dream truck has always been one of my favorite customs, and definetly my favorite custom truck of all time.

Read my first magazine in 1953...I've got a 'November 1953' issue. However, just read it 'off and on' up to several years ago and monthly since then. Yeah, I'm one of the 'old guys' that raced inline sixes with the flatheads..

I have to agree. The Dream Truck is one of my all-time favorites as well. I restored the truck from its totaled condition in 1979.Although there hasn't been much mention in the years since, it was an honor to be associated with it much less restore a car that all the custom legends of the day had a hand in building.I followed the construction when I was just a kid reading Rod and Custom 'little books' in Jake's drug store in Russell, Kansas in the 50's. Great memories.

Maybe Rod & Custom needs to take an SSR and build a tribute to the Dream Truck??? Quad headlights, chopped roof, finned bed and the paint and scallops. Phew!!!

I have a rendering of such a vehicle if anyone wants to see it?
SSR Dream Truck style. Willing to loan my '06 Chrome optioned SSR 400 HP 6 speed to the original gang of builders if they are willing to do another Dream truck, but SSR style. Maybe do another R&C story line following my truck on it's recreation journey?

Same pearl white, scallops, chopped roof, quad head lights and finned bed style rendering? I'd lke to see that, especially to prove that my mind isn't the only warped gray blob thinking up these things.

When the SSRs first came out we were kicking around the idea of doing something like that at R&C. Can't remember why it never happened. We couldn't get our hands on an SSR at the time or something.
