What do you guys think about making a mild custom out of a '66 continental coupe? I have a lead on one in pretty good condition.  

Would make a nice mild custom driver, with a little dechroming,(door handles) french the antenna, tube grille, bags and some scallops. That way you could keep driving it while under construction.  Chopped roofs and massive body mods are great but you have to drive something else while your working on it,  Ask the Riz.  

yeah, i would be very cautious about major mods, due to my complete lack of skills    

Just took a walk through Wal Mart and they have some '65 Lincoln model kits and I saw some ome on EBay., This would be a cheap wayto try some ideas and color schemes on a smaller scale instead of full size?

Still looking for a sled to build? Kind of along the lines of a big Lincoln, I have a '77 Ford LTD II Police Interceptor laid-out hard on air-bags.

The car has dual-cats and dual exhaust, passes smog like a champ plus has Ice-Cold A/C to boot. I drove it on a 2,000 mile trip to Bo Huff's show in Utah without missing a beat.

Also have a '64 Chrysler 300K sled, it's the one in the David Mann painting Jesus Chrysler (see his third art book), or how about a '93 Roadmaster wagon? Also some Harleys, you need an old Shovelhead, right?

First, a little history I think you'll dig. David Mann worked for Big Daddy Roth at the same time as Robert Williams. Dave painted, if memory serves me well like ten paintings for Roth that were sold as posters. David Mann painted over 2,000 book covers including the Dr. Who series.

This a little sloppy, but what do you want for free, David moved on to Easyriders and painted centerspread posters for Easyriders, American Rodder, and Biker which was continued in Biker for a year after David's death known as David Mann Classics.

Jesus Chrysler was a painting David did of my '64 300K "Letter Car" lead sled in appreciation of the cover story I wrote in Juxtapoz about his surreal book cover art. After the Juxtapoz story ran, Dave told me he had heard from people he hadn't talked to in years... it was pretty cool.

Oh gee, sorry I got carried away. The next time you swing by 774 shoot by my office and I'll show you the Chrysler, but frankly if you are looking for a cheap sled the Ford is a better car for you. The Chrysler has a hi-po 413 and the engine alone would cost you more than buying the Ford.

Or how about the Buick wagon? If you ever ended-up homeless the wagon would kind of like a Winnebago with a chopped-top.

Enough of this, I gotta go for a bike ride.

The Buick and Ford are both drivers, you've probably looked right at them when you were at 774. If you don't have a place to park another car where you live then these really won't work because they take up twice the space of your basic trendy Japanese import.

If I was a young feller like you with no worries, I would buy the Buick and live in it. You could park in rich people's neighborhoods and familiarize your self with their attractive offspring and maybe even marry rich. Think about it Ed, and all because you'd really rather have a Buick.

I think the Buick already has its own Zip Code. I hope they don't start registering cars by the pound, this thing is heavy.
