I RECENTLY BOUGHT A STUDEBAKER CHAMPION AS A PRJECT FOR MY KIDS AND MYSELF. MY QUESTION IS, CAN I DROP A CHEVY 350 /290 H.P. INTO THIS CAR WITHOUT ANY FRAME MODS? LOOKING AT THE TECH. MAN. I'M AFFRAID OF TWISTING THE FRAME . ANY HELP OUT THERE ? EVERYTHING I HAVE SAYS THIS IS A 12G STYLE CAR. THE CUSTOM IN QUESTION IS GOING TO BE CHOPPED AND DROPPED, SHONE AND BLOWN. WHAT IS THJE BEST ROUTE TO GO?

I've seen several Stude's running both small and big block Chebbie's. No major frame mods in spite of the frame's original design. (Okay, I admit I'm thinking in terms of the 1953 frame, not the earlier model years.)

But if you are in fact planning to add a blower/afraid of twisting the frame, why aren't you thinking in terms of adding a Mustang II type from suspension and frame clip?
